Opportunity to move into position with salary increase but less networking

I'm currently in an associate-level role with a strong salary and opportunity to connect/interact with our clients and senior management. It's a good gig with a flexible schedule but I know I can't move up here.

Another company in a different industry who I've been connected with in my current role contacted me last week about a manager position that would result in an increase in pay (15-20% I'm assuming right now) but would have me working on a singular project with a specific team and minimal client interaction.

Any thoughts from people here who have done similar? Essentially, I'm trying to determine if the networking value of my current position makes up for the salary increase at the other.

I think it would depend heavily on your current experience level and salary.

I agree. Also, it would depend on your career goals.

Just a word of warning: A 20% increase gets widely down to a 12-14% increase after the government gets done with you. If you're making 100k a year, that's an extra 1k per month, which seems like a lot, but your lifestyle will adjust to it over a year or two and you won't feel that much better off.

I wouldn't leave a job I really liked for 20%. I have passed on more.

Ditto. I have a sweet gig and passed on 50% more money. Money isn't everything.

And a flexible schedule can be worth more than money, depending on your lifestyle/needs.
