That's another point. Windows dominates, overwhelmingly, pretty much every industry that uses computer. I would much rather my children learn the ins and outs of the dominant (and coincidentally more complicated) platform, including proper maintenance and security. Also, my kids are too young to know it yet, but the day they need a real computer is the day they learn to build one.

Fortunately that is changing. Macintosh and iOS devices are being implemented in lots of fortune 500 companies as well as small businesses. Would I buy the $1099.00 iMac? No I do not think it is worth the money. However, the $1299.00 iMac is a much more powerful machine and well worth the money.
