Madden 15 Saints ratings are up, and for fans of the NFC South, it’s hard to find a team with more potential than the Saints this year in EA’s new football video game. In fact, they might be one of the better teams in this year’s franchise mode as well.
There is a lot to like about the New Orleans Saints player ratings in Madden NFL 15, in particular rookie WR Brandin Cooks (74 overall rating). Cooks has been generating rave reviews in camp, and with the help of QB Drew Brees this season he could very easily end up being rookie of the year when all is said and done. Cooks’ Madden 15 ratings reflect a lot of his ability, but what will be most interesting is to see how quickly he develops in the game over the course of the season.
Just how good is Brandin Cooks? How about 95 speed, 96 acceleration, 96 agility, 85 catching, 87 jumping, 92 elusiveness, 84 spin move, 94 juke move and wait, there’s more: 85 catch in traffic. Yeah, it’s safe to say the Saints drafted a Madden stud.
Other Madden 15 Saints ratings worth noting are that of DE Cameron Jordan, who not surprisingly is already in the top five at DE in the game. In the back of the defense there is also the best FS safety in Madden 15 with the newly-signed Jairus Byrd. Clearly, there are pieces on the Saints roster that are head and shoulders ahead of pace with the league, and it’s just a matter of finding a few other gems to make them the lethal team they were just a few seasons ago.

since I purchased sunday ticket last week, I've had a series of boners associated with Byrd...fricking stoked

Lewis and Hicks seem a little underrated. Armstead has to be the fastest lineman in the game.

actually, it is 4thandinches fault...the mere thought of bulldozing motherfrickers with a next gen Kenny V just increased my heartrate 1000 fold

I agree that Keenan Lewis (87) and Akiem Hicks (82) are underrated. I was upset when I saw their ratings. I think Lewis should be sitting at about 90 and Hicks 86+. They have Hicks' strength at only 82 but he's possibly the strongest player on the team. I also think Cooks should be at 96 or 97 for speed but they hooked him up more than I expected in other areas so I can live with the 95 Spd.

Oh and Kenny V will be super fun to play with. 84 or 85 Man Coverage, around the same for his Press coverage rating and best of all 92 Hit Power.
And just for the record the guy in charge of the ratings is @Donny_Moore on Twitter. Feel free to bitch at him about his screw ups

How the hell does all that equal a 74 OVR?

He probably has a low awareness rating. They tend to put a ton of weight into awareness.

I haven't bought a Madden series game since '07, but I might have to this year. I just want to pick off literally every pass with Byrd. 96 ovr

oddly his low scores are:
61 (CAR) Carrying - How well the player holds onto the football. A higher rating means the less chance of a fumble.
43 (RBK) Run Block - How well a player run blocks, used mainly in simulated games only
36 (TRK) Trucking - Player's ability to run over a defender attempting a tackle
42 (SFA) Stiff Arm - Players ability to stiff arm
63 (RLS) Release

Who needs to run someone over or stiff arm them when they can just run past them?

On awareness, that's how they keep rookies and young players artificially low. It usually jumps between 5-10 each year.
The 85 catch for Cooks is low and that's also why his overall is 74. Catch is heavily weighted for WRs.
On Hicks that crap strength score is killing his overall.

How does he get all of this but still has a 74 rating?
