That film is a iodophor antibacterial film. We use it to theoretically decrease the infection rate, mainly from organisms that are normal on the skin

Figured So... Only time I've ever been in surgery is when I've been the one getting cut on...
shite I need to pick some of that up for when I hit the Bars around campus

Sat in on a case with one of the best surgery cardiologist in NOLA to see a tricuspid valve repair. Pretty damn incredible when they bypass blood away from the heart and then later squeeze the heart to get it to beat.
