Not true. Its a myth 8th grade social studies teachers love to push on the children of Louisiana.

Catfish Town was named after Ron "Louisiana Lightning" Guidry's good friend Catfish Hunter.

The shopping center was almost named Reggie Jacksonville.

Also, did any one say that "Istrouma" also means red stick in one of the native american languages? Never knew that until recently.
