Is what true? That the Directv CEO said publicly that they have agreed to rates on the SEC Network? Yes that is true.
Did you really believe that they wouldn't get a deal done for the SEC Network?

Forgive me for asking but why is having the SEC Network such a big deal? LSU games have always been played on CBS or ESPN.

cause majority of SEC Games (including LSU) will be on SECN.

Well, you need to think beyond just LSU football. Take a look at the first Thursday of the season (Texas aTm and South Carolina)...you're not seeing that without SECN.
Not to mention games like Sam Houston St which previously carried a paperview fee to watch.
Then add in other sports (baseball, basketball) and all the preview shows and SEC specific content and it is going to be a nice have.
In October when you're sick of hearing about MLB playoffs for example, switch it over to SECN and they'll be talking football or previewing SEC basketball.
ETA - 8 days till the switch from Direct TV to U-Verse

Uverse is garbage, worst cable provider I've ever used you won't be doing your little
if you ever have to deal with their customer service! Good luck to ya buddy! I'll stick with Cox's pricey but reliable service!

Do you wanna fight or something tough guy?
Seriously though, Cox isn't an option, Charter sucks, we don't like Direct TV at all and U verse is a better option than Dish in my area.
So, me and my banana will dance all that we want and the madder you get, the more we will dance.

This is very true. I'm not concerned about football, it's baseball that will be impacted the most.

Well this definitely isn't true, but a lot will be on the network.
It's a big deal to me because I like to watch football and baseball and the SEC network will feature a lot of SEC football and baseball games.

Just called directv. Rep told me to be patient but would not say it's a done deal.

You don't have to be sly with us regarding your motives, save that for DirecTV.
