Not a bad idea.
Buy the Unofficial Guide To Walt Disney World. You won't regret it.

I just got back today. The FastPass system is the fricking worst.

I've never been to Disney World. It's statements like these that keep my interest abated. It just sounds expensive and a whole lot of work for a vacation.

Do: Get trashed at Epcot
Don't: Get caught banging a waitress in Little Italy
Do: take acid and ride Space Mountain
Don't: take acid and ride it's a small world

Mardi Gras is the best time to go. also, there is a button on the back if the fast pass box that will spit out unlimited fast passes. haven't been since 09 but when I did go that was my trick

If I'm going on a trip that takes a year and a half to plan it certainly is NOT gonna be freaking Disney.
Just does not sound like an enjoyable trip.

Pick your dates
Pick you hotel
Pick your ticket type
Pick your parks for each day
Make dining reservations
Make Fast Pass reservations
Go
1) Don't go whenever schools out
2) Buy & Read the Current Unofficial Guide
3) Bring a lot of money
4) Do sleep in a day or two
5) Follow a touring plan to avoid lines
6) Do have a mid-week no park day
7) Do watch Off Kilter in Canada Pavilion at Epcot while drinking around the world. Then catch the fireworks while buzzed.
8) Don't stay in a Value Resort.
9) Research Overlooked Attractions. Will make a world of difference
10) Don't expect a relaxing vacation. So have a recovery day at home when done.
11) Make the effort to not eat a single burger or chicken nugget. There're lots of better choices.
12) Take mid-day breaks. Pool, nap and chill before hitting the evening parks.
13) If a line is too long, keep moving.
14) Your resort will have some damn good entertainment. Be sure you find out what's going on there.
15) Tip your mousekeepers. $4-$5 per day before you head out.

I would spend the money you're going to waste on a Disney trip on a divorce lawyer.
