The attacks on 9/11 are Clinton's true legacy.

quote:

It doesn't matter.

Think of it in terms of our privacy at home. Most people here are against government intrusions on privacy... like listening in on our conversations.

What if the government was given free-reign to listen in? Sure, they may catch more criminals and terrorists or whoever, but we are supposed to have principles. We will take our chances because we value freedom and privacy. They will have to find another way, and we will take the risk.

Same thing in regards to taking out Bin Laden at the expense of hundreds of people. Sure, you will kill Bin Laden, but as Americans, we are supposed to have principles and if that makes our lives a little less safe, then so be it.

Agree. This board routinely bashes Obama for the drone strikes (and rightfully so). We'll never know if one of the targets would have pulled off another 9-11.

am no fan of Bill Clinton, but I can't hold this against the man. I would have made the same choice if presented with the same intel.

Michael Schueur was on Fox this morn; he's the man who HEADED UP the get Osama team back then. He explained the whole scenario, and outright called Clinton a liar.

Kandahar was a city of over 400,000. The place OBl was staying was on the outskirts. It was 3am and the only place that would have been even slightly damaged was a Mosque next door. The only people hurt...would have been AQ operatives.

Geraldo Rivera (disgusting POS) slammed Schueur for calling out Clinton. Schueur was even fired by CBS for telling the truth; (no surprise there) and Rivera called the termination a negative on MS' record.

This is why we'll be hit again. Liars apologizing and enabling liars. Schueur nailed it: both Clinton and Obama act according to the way they will be perceived by the World, and not in a way that fulfills the mandate of their sworn Oath/job description. To defend the Constitution and OUR people. If they value their own reputation more than making the sausage to do their Constitutional duty...they shouldn't ask for the job.

Clinton and Obama can go straight to hell; they deserve to live with their own ilk.

We could have possibly killed the man behind 9/11 years before, but it would have been a politically risky choice for Clinton. The convenient plan was to ignore the problem after our embassy bombings and wait for the next guy to deal with it.

IMO, his administration has contributed significantly to our vulnerability on 9/11 by making politically expedient decisions instead of leading.
