This has been shown to be false by just about every study and model run in the last 10 years. Creel and size limits just don't have that kind of impact on a species with such high natural mortality and reproduction rates. It defies all conventional knowledge, but it's all about the area and habitat, not the rod and reel when it comes to specks.

I think some of these problems are cyclical things and the river has been higher than normal for the past 3 years which has to effect some things.
I know a lot of the guides in Venice are bitching about fish numbers but there are also a lot more guides than there used to be.
I've had trouble catching trout in Venice inshore. It may be a high river thing or my fishing skills may be slipping.
