Coastal Maine or Newport, RI.

Nashville - definitely want to go, but have friends there so its just a matter of time.
Seattle - should have mentioned already been
DC - want to go in my lifetime, prob wait for kids
Denver - I think i'll end up here plenty times on my way to ski - might wait on this.
I think ive narrowed it down to San Fran or San Diego!
Any recommendations on what to do at those two? The fact that I could drive to Napa or Sonoma from San Fran is a big perk, but I would love SD too.

I don't know San Diego well but San Fran is a great eating city for sure so just look up top restaurants and live it up. El Farolito is the best burrito I've ever had and it was like $7 or $8. Gary Danko was phenomenal if expensive. My little bro and I enjoyed a breakfast clam chowder out on the pier at 7am one morning.
The slanted door won a James Beard Award in 2014.
Other things to do:
If there is a football game in SF you can go watch the 9ers/Bears/Cardinal play (Cal has an AMAZING view of the city from the top of their stadium)
The pier to watch the sea lions play for at least a bit
Gotta do the bridge
And you can go up to Napa for a day or overnight for that part too
I'm going back to SF in a few weeks and I'll see what sparks my interest (only going for a couple days and have work there but will try and get out)

In November? No thanks.

Posted by VABuckeye I've been thinking that a long weekend in Arizona during that time of year would be nice. Perhaps Nurse has input.
Weather is very nice that time of year in Sedona. Highs in the mid 60s, lows in the 40s.

Type of place where you stay at a resort and then do the outdoor activities and scenery during the day? Looks nice

San Fran, rent a car and drive straight to Yosemite. Stay at the Ahwahnee Hotel.

Glacier national park or Yellowstone.

Both beautiful but I'm not sure people are noticing that the OP wants to do this trip in November. Average high in Yellowstone in November is 34 and the average low is 14. All of the facilities in Yellowstone are closed in November.

Your right. I overlooked that.

Yes
I go whenever I can and seriously could never tire of that place.

Well down to San Fran and Sedona. Should be golden either way! Gotta do some homework and decide!
Great info On both here!
