I knew you were going to post a pic of the Gaylord.
Honestly, do you realize that the National Harbor is less than 5mins of one of the most crime ridden areas of the DC Metro area?? What kind of clientele do you think roams the streets at night? Do you think it will improve or worsen with the addition of the MGM Casino? Dude youre killing me here....
I work very close to the National Harbor.
I know exactly where it is. The complex is nice.
I live in NOVA. I could care less about the fricking casino. The only reason I go to PG County is to go to New 24 in District Heights to coach basketball. Now, if you want to talk about neighborhoods that are a dump there you go.

That is right where we're headed tomorrow. We've been at the Willard since Sunday, then on Friday we jump to the Gaylord resort til next Sunday. The karate tournament is at the Gaylord.

Oak Hill. Someone said Reston is cheap. Sure, if you want to live in a shitty apartment with subsidized housing it's cheap.

My peewee football team went across the river to scrimmage a team from Oxen Hill. With five minutes left in halftime the other team lined up and ran a play for a TD while we were still on the sidelines they counted the points. After the scrimmage was over and they had won all of the fans for the Oxen Hill team rushed the field taunting us the whole time. They then gathered around our bus and continued to yell at us as we drove away. One of the strangest experiences of my life. I only ever went back to Oxen Hill to buy liquor because they would sell to anyone.

Glad you're having a good time. The weather we are having right now is amazing. Just keep the avoiding the beltway during rush hour (8am-6pm) so that way you don't decide to drive your car off a bridge.

buddy of mine lives in Reston and his townhouse is cheaper than mine, but I'm in Alexandria

I think you meant to reply to 911. I've lived here for 33 years. I rarely go anywhere near DC and my commute is against traffic.

Understandable. Does he own or rent? Still western Fairfax county is far from cheap. Plus, some of us have a little land out here.

He rents, I own
but now that the silver line is open, I'm sure rent is REALLY going to spike

It amazes me how many DMV people are on this board. I've probably been drunk out in Ballston/Clarendon with a bunch of you.

Has the silver line opened? I keep hearing that it's still in testing and delayed.

I'm an old fart but I'd be happy to get together with the locals for a beer or six.
