3 pages and no one has mentioned Eleven 79?? Come on.

I went once on someone else's dime and thought it was not terrible, not awesome .. but just "unique" I guess is a good way to describe the food? This was 1 year 1/2 ago, I need to give it another shot. Veal was good, calamari was alright. Bread was pretty killer.

also, Midget.. you ever give us a result of this thread? Eleven79 vs. Cafe Giovanni

Wow nice find! Been a while. Yes we wound up at Brigstens, which was incredible. Haven't been to either Giovanis or Eleven 79, since they both get forgotten too often when we try to decide on a place to dine. On a few occasions we were in 79 area and stopped by, but they were closed. Can't remember the times, but I believe it was what would be normal for other restaurants. This thread got me talking with my wife's friend tonight while we were all out who said she used to do 79 often and loved it. I think we are planning this one soon.

ETA: Actually it was Martinique we went to, not Brigstens. Brig was a different night. Martinique was great overall... that night. I went there again about a year ago and it was not very good. Maybe they are inconsistent or just a bad night.
