I like Jackson too. Not as your best back or anything but I think he will be solid this year.

naw. I ain't mad. But talk about washed up backs. I had him last year. He's a shell of the Rams back he was. He doesn't break tackles as he once did. He'll miss a minimum of 6 games.

I wouldn't say SJax is guaranteed to miss an X number of games -- he's not really that much more of an injury risk than any other back.

The problem with him is, he runs too long in the same spot.

4. BHam
Likes: McCoy and Leveon? Pa-pow! Cobb & Cordarrelle? Bang-bang! Mathews in the flex? Yes please. Frontline starters are some of the leagues best. RGIII doesn’t blow me away but he should be able to field a serviceable mix and match approach with Cutler as a QB2
Dislikes: Pitta/Clay are just "OK" . Backups are nothing special. Can Dobson stay healthy?
Overall: BHam did a great job in the 1st half of the draft. Also like the 2QB approach (if that’s what he’s planning). its just a matter of staying healthy BC his starters can go with anyone in the league, but his backups suck
Draft Grade: B+

How much does Owen Daniels hurt Pitta?

I agree with your assessment pretty much. Not "all in" on Cordarelle or whatever the frick his name is.

he looked like the SJax of old in that 1st half of the Saints game.... I know thats like 3% of the NFL season, but I look for a bounce back this year. just a hunch.

Daniel

backup role will help him stay healthy, but will probably get just enough action to kill both their value

Cordarrelle = 2013 Alshon

Cordarrelle is way more hyped this year. Last year Alshon was a $2 auction or late round flyer.

You gotta pay #2 WR price for him and hope the hype is real. I'm staying far away

Ellington finished the season with 652 yards in 118 attempts, a 5.53 yards-per-carry average that was the best in the NFL for backs with at least 100 rushes.

6 games vs SF, SEA and STL wont be nice. Though he did ok vs them last year. I can't see him doing too much work there.

Biggest Draft Reaches

quote:

1. Julian Edelman
He was a volume catch guy in an offense that lacked it's main weapon, Rob Gronkowski. Will Brady force feed Edelman now that Gronk is back and +1 year in the system for Dobson and Thompkins? Amenola looms. Won't be a terrible player, per se, but would have been available a round or two later

quote:

2. Ryan Matthew
Just a load of meh. What does this guy do? He's carries the load in between the 20s while we watch Woodhead get goal line carries and catches. Enter Donald Brown and his fat contract, and where does that leave Matthews? And we haven't even started on his injury history. He goes in round 4 where many other quality players were still available.

quote:

3. Khiry Robinson
As Saint fans, we all love this dude's potential. But even Lester will admit, he went 2-3 rounds too early.

Best Draft Values

quote:

1. Roddy White
Must toot my own horn here; White goes from a top 20 player taken the past year or two and drops to pick 40. What has changed? Not much, except for more targets now that Gonzalez is retired. Roddy proved he hasn't lost anything after carrying teams to titles at the end of last season. While Julio has the upside, Roddy lines up all over the field and remains Matt Ryan's security blanket.

quote:

2. Eric Decker
I know people think that the NYJ's QB situation is grim, but you have to love Decker here at pick 77. He is the only option, sure, but we have seen only options flourish just by sheer volume alone. I also hear positive reports on Geno Smith. I like the upside here late.

quote:

3. Reggie Wayne
Another MWG pick; I actually like Decker and Wayne better than his first two WRs Fitz and Torrey Smith. Wayne coming off injury doesn't really worry me as he lost a step over the years and was still productive. 80 catches at pick 92 is nice value.

Best Overall Drafts

quote:

1. MWG
Obviously I like his value picks, as noted above. Being able to pair Martin with Lacy in RD 3, along with Rodgers was a nice start. Joique is a solid flex option. Do not like Fitzgerald or Torrey Smith, but the Decker/Wayne pick makes up for it. If he would've went different on those two WRs i think he would've hit a HR

quote:

2. Bham
Even though I hated the Matthews pick, I think he did well. McCoy and Bell form a solid PPR RB duo. I think Cobb and Patterson both take another step, so I am ok with those WRs. If RG3 returns to form, his team will be formidable.

quote:

3. Lester
I didnt really like the way he went about forming his team, but in the end, it is solid. The two headed monster at WR will be nice points every week. Alfred Morris is solid contributor; Darrel Young and Roy Helu vultured 6 goal line TDs from him last season! I think Vereen is a RB1 in PPR, that was a nice value pick. I love Golden Tate in DET's new offense and Tony Romo is a steal at 108. He had some really shitty picks (Dri Archer, Khiry, Cole Beasely) but I don't really care about depth as much as others.

Worst Overall Draft

quote:

1. Gtothemoney
Welcome to the show, rook! This team's mascot should be The Riddler, because it's full of question marks throughout. Lynch with the age/holdout, Edelman, Cruz and that offense, Gore is geriatric, MJD in age/OAK, Mike Wallace, Boldin... man, I just don't care for any of these guys and will not probably own any on my 5 teams this season. However, Peyton Manning can keep teams in games, and I love the value on Jordan Cameron. Other than that, Im hard pressed to say I like anything about this team.
PS You will win the league

The rest of the teams are par for the course, IMO. Sorry G$

Allen, V-Jax, Roddy, Fitz and Welker were drafted behind Edelman. I think I would have taken all of them before JE. He could very well have another high catch season but I'm thinking it's something like 75 catches for 800 yards and 3-4 TDs. Not terrible but not what I'd like out of a 3rd round pick.

hey, us elderly folks must stick together.

I'm not worried about the Lynch holdout at all. There's no way he's gonna pay 30k per day, forfeit a portion of his signing bonus (114k) after 6 days, and 1 game check if he misses a preseason game.

I say the same thing about Gore every year. But just last season (1,100 yds 9 TDS.)

Cruz will be used more in the slot this year.

Who knows?
