Next step will be forcing churches to conduct ceremonies.

This is nothing more than conservative Christian fear-mongering. There is absolutely zero precedent for this and such a move would be vehemently opposed by even a large number of proponents of gay marriage, such as myself.

Churches will never be forced to wed gay couples against their will.

And private businesses will never be forced to bake a cake?

Time will tell.
Constitutional strawman arguments notwithstanding, the antichurch agenda will move forward leveraging social pressure, perhaps in the extreme. In light of a battle not yet waged, stating "churches will never be forced to wed gay couples" is a bit naive.

I am not so sure

The gay rights lobby is too large and has become a big leviathan that continues to need to be fed. Once gay marriage is legal in all 50 states the gay rights lobby will need another issue to whip up, so they can continue to be relevant. The gay rights lobby isn't just going to go away, they need issues to get their supporters all riled up about so they can continue to exist and get money.

Forcing churches to marry gays could be that issue to keep them going. They won't just fold.

Did the civil rights movement fold when segregation was ended? They are still alive more than ever, calling racism for every single issue. Gay rights lobby will be no different.
