the jumps, even for the premium trucks are a little less than I pictured, but they could easily lower the amounts of incentives offered to make the jump seem quite a bit higher
I imagine the incentives will be next to nil for 2015 for a bit though
and here are the engine numbers that were released:
2015s are 732 lbs lighter than 2014 F150. (From 5600 to 4900.)
-2.7L ecoboost has 325 hp and 375 Ftlbs torque. Maximum payload of 2,250 lbs and can tow 8,500 lbs.
-3.5L ecoboost has 365 hp and 420 Ftlbs torque. Maximum payload of 2,600 lbs and can tow 11,300 lbs
-3.5L V6 Ti-VCT engine produces 283 hp and 255 lb.-ft. of torque

The base, or non-luxury, models - the XL work truck and the most popular version the XLT - will see prices rise $395 over F-150 pickups currently on sale. The XL base price will be $26,615 including destination charges, and the XLT will begin at $31,890.

The Lariat, the lowest priced of the luxury F-150s, begins pricing at $39,880, up $895. Levine said this version includes an eight-inch LCD screen and a rear-view camera as standard equipment.
The two highest-priced versions saw the biggest price increases. The King Ranch F-150 rose $3,615 to $49,460, and the Platinum version rose $3,055 to $52,155.

Gonna have to pay more for status symbols

im willing to bet that the higher priced luxury models have more standard features than the predecessors
of course they will have new optional equipment as well to get the total (loaded) price higher than the predecessor as well

I'll just do what I always do and buy one from one of these guys with 30K miles on it in a few years for damn near half the price becuase they'll want a new one.

i'll be buying a new one, but won't do it right away
i can't handle paying MSRP, knowing that they'll be rebating quite a bit a few months later

What's everyone's thoughts on the engines? I'd stay with the 3.6 Eco boost. Dad's platinum has it and he's been happy with it.

I'm waiting to see the new mpg numbers before I decide which engine option to get.

it's 3.5 FWIW
thats what I have now and will probably stick with it
its an impressive motor
the 2.7 will be a niche IMO, but I'd like to see the MPG numbers on it
i think the stop/start technology on the 2.7 is what will scare a lot of people off

I'm interested in the 2.7 since I very rarely tow anything over 5k lbs. but I'm worried first year production will have some bugs to work out.
These are msrp prices correct?

yeah, it being able to tow 8500 pounds should definitely suit most buyers
but you've got guys that refuse to try the 3.5EB because it ain't a v8, even though its got better numbers than the V8 does

So is there no V8 option for 2015 fords?
Posted on 7/28/14 at 5:13 pm to ToulatownTiger
they still have the 5.0
i don't think the numbers changed on it that I'm aware of...or they haven't been released if so

BMW, Toyota, and others seem to make it work.

i'm not saying it won't work, but truck owners are a finicky bunch when it comes to stuff like this

Yeah, that's a pretty bad comparison...

Think a BMW owner isn't picky?
