My buddy from EP would brown and then melt onions into his braising liquid to make his "grease gravy". Hate the term...loved the finished product. Best when a good smoked sausage and cat squirrels are used.

But can you make a sausage gravy out of it? I'm being led to believe the op was looking for a milk based sausage gravy.
