$500 million? Yeah right. The movie itself didn't cost over $200. I doubt an additional 300 was spent on advertising.

I just copy pasted, you're right. Movie budget was 144m, advertising was over 100m, so 250m total.

Director Paul Feig said GB would've had to make 500m to break even, i'm guessing that's where they got their number at.

Glad to hear the movie isn't a flop. Now it's time to make a new Masters of the Universe Movie.

Fieg said the movie would have to make 500mm to be considered a success in the eyes of being a Hollywood blockbuster. This was said after all the negative feelings were coming in towards the movie. In a way he was saying they were set up to fail from the beginning which they were. As like other instances in today's world people miss quoted him saying the movie has to make 500MM to breakeven and wrote articles about it

Back on topic. Power Rangers was the most fun I've had at the theater since force awakens

This movie will have plenty of staying power at the box office. The audience reviews and word of mouth will make it have another strong showing.

Also, they havent even tapped some of the bigger foreign markets yet. It'll have a really strong finish which will ensure it'll be at least a trilogy.
