No, it isn't. Read up on the whole story including the kid's actions before the shooting.

He was drug induced nuts and had already attacked people. As others have stated, this also happened around the same time as some of the cannibal bath salts cases. Further without knowing USA's staffing level, backup may have not been nearby.

The officer's decision to shoot may have been debatable (I wasn't there), but based on the known facts of the night's events and video that exists it wasn't unreasonable.

The family's attorney is venue shopping because they've lost at every other level. The fed civil rights angle is literally their last hope but his tox screen and prior actions are just going to be impossible to overcome.

Sucks, but the lesson really is don't do hallucenogenic drugs.
