I like how NBA players think that sitting out proves some kind of noble point when in reality, it just makes them look narrowminded. Sitting out and punishing your team, fans and league all because of one old racist that's already getting booted from the league? Genius!

Bill Russell faced consistent racial harassment in Boston during a time when public opinion wasn't overwhelmingly on his side. I'm glad he had more fortitude than some of the players and coaches of today.

And what exactly is Chris Paul's gripe in sitting out? Is he insinuating that the league hasn't done everything in its power to remove Sterling as quickly as possible? I mean the motherfricker got banned FOR LIFE by the commissioner himself. Ron Artest assaulted paying customers with his bare hands DURING A GAME and got a fraction of that punishment.

In the league and throughout the media, nobody is supporting what Sterling said. I could see Chris Paul's point if everyone had just turned a blind eye, but that could not be further from what has happened. The only people he'd be hurting by sitting out are the ones on his side.

In theory, it really would be noble. But throw in like you said the fact that he's already been banned for life AND that his racist views were well known before this, and it definitely loses all of the noble...ness.
