Seeing how massive the Saturn V is in person is amazing. NASA is a must visit if you are in Houston.
I got an opportunity to do this on Sunday, which happened to be the 45th anniversary of the first moon walk. It was absolutely amazing to see that rocket up close and personal, and even more amazing to think about what those guys were able to accomplish given the technology difference between then and now.
I took some pictures next to the rocket to give some vantage point of how incredibly huge those engines are..but it's hopeless to try and show that in a picture.
The space center was pretty meh overall, but the walking around that rocket for 20 minutes staring at it in awe was worth the price of admission imo.

I totally agree with this. I was amazed at the size of the Saturn V when I visited KSC.
Last year, I had training at NASA where we were in the building where the Astronauts lived in and prepared prior to launches. They allowed us to privately tour the apartments and the room where the Astronauts would get into their space suites prior to launch. It has been left completely in tact from the original space program. It was an awesome experience.
I think it is pathetic that we've allowed this nation to degrade to the point where we can no longer launch a manned spacecraft. It is pathetic! Our political leadership sucks and has for twenty years. It is our own fault for allowing this happen. We keep electing these jerks who do nothing but look the country.
A Titan IV launched tonight at 6:55 PM. We have great weather today, it should be easily seen from SAB.
