So he chose to ride the bike down the hill? 
I agree that Daniel egged them on and deserved something, but that might have killed him. This is the moment when the cool kids deserve to be whooped. They went too far.

Daniel had a damn Huffy bike, Cobra Kais were rolling deep with dirt bikes. Daniel should of known from the day he moved to not mess with Johnny lady. Either join them or feel the wrath.

Not exactly.
But if you watch the scene, they sort of force him off the path, and instead of just stopping or turning back onto the road, he heads downhill. But I did say they went too far with that...I mean shite, they wanted to show him "how to take a fall."
