re: Question about The Karate Kid

In 2014 Johnny is living wherever he wants, banging whoever he wants, probably ended up with Ali and she spit out a few of his kids. Daniel is a referee or something in martial arts tournaments and is barely getting by by teaching karate.

I always thought it was strange how the Cobra Kai sensei made the guy hurt Daniel's leg in an effort to put him out of the tournament. Did he not have any confidence that Johnny could beat Daniel?
I never understood why he cared so much about Daniel in the first place. Why, as the sensei, was he so involved in bullying the random new kid?

Man, I can't stand that guy (Daniel Son). Dude rolls into town and immediately starts causing trouble, breaking up relationships, adding to the unemployment problem (notice that his cooky mom's job didn't pan out?), cheating, lying, etc., etc., etc. Should have stayed in Jersey with all of the Jersey-types. Hated him in My Cousin Vinnie, hated him in Happy Days, and especially hated him in Karate Kid (all of them.)

So, is the consensus that of the 4 Karate "kids" (Daniel, Johnny from part I, Chozen from part II and Barnes from III) that Daniel ends up actually being the least successful?
In the short amount of time that passed between Daniel moving to CA and winning the tourney Johnny committed the following crimes:
Battery
Sexual battery
Drugging on school grounds
On the OT and MSB, this qualifies him as a tPOS. Safe to say he ended up really fricking up his life too much for even daddy's lawyers to fix.
How would Chozen have done well? The only person that liked him gave him one big huge Okinawan middle finger.
Barnes was already successful. Trust me.... You don't have full page ads in karate magazines without a high degree of success.

Dude, please, quit life now.

At the end of the day, Sato forgave him.
For one thing, he was born again on that forgiveness kick so he can't be all lovey dovey with the guy that he fantasized about killing for 40 years and then tell his nephew "Oh, but none of this applies to you..."
For another, Chozen was his only heir so Okinawan honor probably dictated he get the company so outsiders wouldn't.
If nothing else, Chozen was a born hustler (rigging the weights, gambling, karate skills) so he could have made something happen.

Let's also not forget the soccer tryouts.
So, we have:
Beach beating
fricking with him at soccer tryouts
Causing him to bust his arse on his bike
Hose down beating
Verbally fricking with him constantly (and also his mom)
What was Daniel supposed to do? Just sit back, and be beaten/fricked with constantly?
The whole "leave well enough alone" line was a load of bullshite.
This was going to continue until Daniel learned karate, and he knew it.

Seriously bro, just end it. It's very clear that you did not watch the same movie as everyone else. Daniel brought everything upon himself, AND THEN SOME. He's lucky Johnny and Cobra Kai were merciful and decent enough not to kill him. In most other places (especially including Jersey, which is quite ironic), this would not have ended well for Daniel. Do you think if the roles were reversed and Johnny moved to Jersey, that all would have ended well for Johnny? Suffice to say, Johnny would have been "sleeping with the fishes" after the little stunt on the beach.
And on a side note, why was his Okinawan overlord around at all anyway? If he had any honor at all, he would have died defending Okinawa against the Americans in WW2 (not that I'm defending the Japs during WW2 of course - but dying for the emperor was the honorable thing for them to do.) Just another act of cowardice (along with beating up a bunch of kids, lying to get Daniel into the All Valley tournament, getting smashed in front of minors, never getting around to fixing the pool at the Seven Seas apartments, etc., etc.)

You are right..... We definitely didn't watch the same movie.

Or much worse, Cobra Kai accidentally allowed Daniel into the fold and taught him their awesomeness (similar to Darth Vader once being a jedi.)

Perhaps you watched the Disneyfied remake a few years ago with Will Smith's corn-rolled kid.

I got a good laugh out of these and had never seen them before, but I'm sure they probably have been posted before, but its a good time waster.
Crimes of Daniel LaRusso Part 1
Part 2
Johnny told him not to touch the boombox and Daniel didn't listen and sucker punched Johnny. Fair game after that.

You had a few good points until you posted this nonsense.

Perhaps you should watch the original again, and get a clue about Miyagi's role in WWII.

He didn't really, but yeah..... That nonsense he spewed (RE: Miyagi/WWII) just made him look that much more retarded.

I mean, was everyone that survived the war a coward? Would have been better if every Japanese man died?
His post reeks of racism.

Fair game to torment/harass for as long as Johnny wants?
No way, Jose

Respectfully, I disagree. It was called "Bushido". You history much bruh?
During pre-World War II and World War II Showa Japan, bushido was pressed into use for militarism,[14] to present war as purifying, and death a duty.[15] This was presented as revitalizing traditional values and "transcending the modern."[16] Bushido would provide a spiritual shield to let soldiers fight to the end.[17] As the war turned, the spirit of bushido was invoked to urge that all depended on the firm and united soul of the nation.[18] When the Battle of Attu was lost, attempts were made to make the more than two thousand Japanese deaths an inspirational epic for the fighting spirit of the nation.[19]

Yes, I also know Miyagi's backstory.
quote:
After first arriving in Los Angeles, he attended Armijo High School, which is in Fairfield, California, and then he attended the University of California Santa Barbara and was later interned in the Manzanar Japanese internment camp at the onset of World War II. During this time, Miyagi joined the U.S. Army and received the Medal of Honor
I'll generously accept your apology without running you off a cliff and verbally abusing your mom.
