This is an argument from incredulity versus about half a dozen papers (check the cited refs in Liu/Curry) all saying that far smaller ppt/psu differences can have measurable sea ice differences. And again, I'm talking about the differences in salinity between the top layers in, say, the 1970s, and the top layers now, as caused by melt runoff and increased precipitation. Not the difference in salinity between layers in a given present-day snapshot.
