Maybe so. I just drank one as part of a mixed 6 pack. I was planing on buying more, but maybe I'll stick with one at a time.

I think this is the right approach when digging into craft beer. I would create the mix and match sixer like this:

2 beers you know you like (so you know you'll have at least two beers you like.
2 beers you haven't tried, but know you like the style (so you can try beers from different breweries, as we all have some we like better than others)
2 beers in a style that you haven't tried (Try different styles. We all have had our eyes opened to a style we didn't know we liked)

This won't last you long, since usually the mix and match choices are limited, but the object is to try different things and figure out what you like. The mix and match beers are usually more intro beers, anyway. You won't find any barrel aged stouts in the mix and match section, but you can find some decent regular stouts. Most of us probably were turned onto craft beer by beers that you find in the mix and match section. For me, it was Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Sam Adams Boston Lager.

Once you figure out what you like, you can start seeking out the more popular beers in that style. Their are a lot of beers out there, so have fun going out and trying them. And remember, it is always better to drink with friends, even if they are online...
