Now, they aren't all like that, but if anyone can peel 15-20 percent of the educated/free thinking ones away, its Rand...

Probably a little off-topic ... but I am aware of Rand Paul's medical career...and, in my opinion, he is a smart fellow.

(Not this BS smart that was lavished upon Obama just because he went to Ivy league and such ... I think we can all see now that Obama is not that smart.)

But ... what has Rand Paul actually RUN (and I don't view a medical practice that same as, say ... a more conventional business).

And ... the way folks talk about him on here ... we don't need to replace one so-called Messiah with another.

What we need is a practical/common sense man (yeah, a man ... I said it) ... who can actually LEAD, RUN things, be the HMFIC...show some accountability and demand it.

I'm not convinced that Rand Paul is that guy.

Not convinced either, still watching all these guys. If Rand is a MD, though, he's probably good at management, and has to be good at running thing to stay profitable in these times. His biggest hurdle IMO is Foreign Policy, but that's going to be a hurdle for anyone, esp if our last Sec of State runs, she looks to have been a disaster, so that void seem to be open, and I don't know if Rand is THAT guy...Time/debates will tell..

Reagan was an actor. He just knew how to lead. He also did not have an agenda to radically change the country from its foundation.

I see Rand in this light

I attended an annual meeting of the Airport Minority Contactor's Association a few years back. Roland Martin was the keynote speaker. He makes his living perpetuating minority injustice stories, peppered with anecdotes. If he actually wrote about the news and reported facts instead of continual reporting of racial injustice, he might be a pretty decent columnist and reporter. As he is, though, he is just another race-mongerer and I consider him no better than Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton, even if he isn't as strident as they are. That's too bad because he actually is very talented speaker and writer. A one trick pony, though.

That would have been Romney. Man is loaded already. Smart, efficient and honest. Spent much of his life giving, because of his Religion. Believes in Capitalism.

What kind of leader we need will be determined by the CONDITIONS when the time arrives. Might need Allen West.
