I don't try to capitalize on a mistake by a business. If they say they forgot to put the labor on it I would ask them what labor was and if I was happy with it I would pay it. If not, I would go somewhere else but I surely wouldn't strong arm someone over a mistake.

I am seeing this sentiment on much of these replies. Does the printed quote/contract have no validity?
I would argue that it is not what people mean to say or interpret, but what is there in black and white. The document should always speak for itself. I asked for a quote on brakes and he handed me a print out with a bottom line of $329... I didn't check to make sure he included labor. I bet they'll check that from now on though...

Are you kidding me? The OP would have likely taken his vehicle somewhere else if they originally quoted him $500. They need to honor the quote.

I agree. We all make mistakes and I sure as shite wouldn't punish an innocent person, the mechanic who gets paid per job in this case, over $100.
