really in any order - my favorite is BBQ Shop. But Central may be the best all around joint - everything there is great. The BBQ shop pulled pork is just so so good. Central's ribs are probably best in the city. Cozy Corner is really good too - not as good as these other two IMHO - but, it has a cult following and is a complete dive in the hood (which is why lots of folks love it).

Cozy is not in the hood. It's right down the street from St. JUDE. Any further north you'll find yourself in rough territory though.

I wish I could go back in time and meet the person that recommended I go to Blues City Cafe for bbq during my trip to Memphis. Hands down the worst "bbq" I've ever tasted. Actually, it might be some of the worst food in general I've ever tasted.
Memphis style is very different if you're used to any other type. Even with an open mind it was hard to stomach. I literally didn't make the walk back to the Peabody without getting nauseous.
I didn't go to Central, but I went to Cozy Corner and was pleasantly surprised. Also, Rendevous helped to salvage the trip as well.
