Saban at Bama is better than Miles at LSU. Saban while at LSU was another story.
Being outcoached is a criticism of Miles, but people tend to forget some of Saban's miscues. Take the Virginia Tech game in 2002; Beamer played Saban with that. Our opener and on the road, vs a good team that went and scheduled a tuneup before playing us. Nick might not get schemed like that again, but he did while he was our coach.
Or the Florida game in 2002; the game was in hand. No need to keep running your starting QB into the line, but that's what he did, and we lost Mauck for the rest of the year. Promising season down the toilet.
Saban never really separated LSU from Auburn during his time here; we each won at home. Auburn 2004's team had the single best record of either team during Saban's tenure, they just didn't get the chance to play for the national title.

The game was already planned and the schedule was already in stone. I doubt he could have changed this.

His biggest mistake while at LSU. Still not sure why he did this.

In 2001 LSU destroyed AU. In 2004 a stupid rule gave AU another kick. Not making excuses for him, cause Randall drove the team down the field on the 1st drive and LSU had a ton of mojo. The 2nd series he put in JR and it was gone.
