I kind of agree with this. I find the "pro-Miles" threads equally as obnoxious as the "anti-Miles" threads.

I f'n love these threads, but not as much as I love Les Miles, the greatest football coach in LSU history.

You should post more. Clearly one of your posts couldn't have covered all of the mind blowing knowledge you felt the need to drop.

LSU fans are so spoiled by success; it blinds them to the realities of football.
Question; When have you ever felt like the Tigers were outmatched, or overwhelmed by their opponent?
Regardless of how you feel about him, when the Tigers enter the stadium, Les has his team ready to compete. He is not perfect, as no coach is. He makes bad choices at times, which all coaches do.
However, in any business, its about the bottom line. Bottom line, Les wins lots of games, which most coaches don’t.
I have no need to repeat all of Les’ career records, as they are second to none. Some fans should realize that in a 4 year span, we have only lost nine games total (three to Bama).
The crazy thing is, even when we lose, we still have a chance to win. Even with “horrible coaching” and “terrible decisions,” we are always a play away from leaving with a victory.
While many like to blame Les (part of any head coaches job is to shoulder the blame when things go wrong), if you look closely at the past four years, many games were decided, by plays that had little to do with Les’ ability to coach football. In fact, the beloved Chavis has made questionable decisions
2010
24-17 to Auburn (Cam Newton was the best player in the world)
Arkansas 31-23 (Mallets’ Long TD passes/ players running into each other “Hatcher”).
2011
Alabama 21-0 (Planning to run the option with Jefferson was maybe the worst coaching decision of Les’ career. Yet in still, even Bama fans know that this game was a dog-fight for three and a half quarters).
2012
Florida 12-6 (Beckham Fumbles, very poor offensive game plan in my opinion).
Bama 21-17 (Terrible play calling on short yardage plays. We could have easily won this game. Before the Yeldon TD, I’m yelling, watch the back out of the backfield!)
Clemson 25-24 (convert the 1st down and we win. Correct play call late in the game, poor execution on the offense part. Not to mention our D let us down late in the game.
2013
Georgia 44-41(Beckham Fumbles Punt . Also, it looked as if we had middle school girl scouts in the secondary that Saturday).
Ole Miss 27-24 (Mettenbergers worst game as a Tiger. We couldn’t over come the bad QB play. Sadly, ever QB has a bad day at the office, only problem is, in College football, a bad day at the office can cost you your season. The fact that we let Wallace convert that third down late in the game still bothers me).
Bama 17-38 (Copeland’s fumble turned this game into a bad dream).
Les and Saban will always be compared and contrasted whether we like it or not.
Both coaches are winners. Is Saban a great coach? Yes. Is Les a great coach? Yes. Problems is, Saban’s recent run of success makes some LSU fans feel less about our own head man.
Point Being: Some teams lost nine games last year.

Imagine if Saban had stayed another 5 years at LSU for arguement's sake. How many titles would LSU have likely won? 2-3 imo....as opposed to LM's 1 in 2007
And what does this have to do with his record as LSUs actual coach? We understand that in your mind he does great things and even let's you wipe your chin after. I just want to know do you wake up right after handing him the Debbie Cakes ?

Excuse game #1.

This was NO dogfight. Bama dominated LSU. The D was the only saving grace.

Agree here but whos fault is this?

Again whos fault is that?
Plus the PF on Copeland changed the game.

The D wasn't even really in the game at all. Most of those guys knew this was their last game. Plus it looked like the team did not want to be there anyway. If LSU was 100% focused we could have blew them out.

UGA was the better team that day. No excuses.

This game was all on Miles IMO. Hill fumbles and he benches him. The team had zero focus and thought they would go in and blow them away.

Bama 17-38 (Copeland’s fumble turned this game into a bad dream).
Excuse game # 2. LSU still had plenty of chances at winning this game. Bama totally outclassed us in the 2nd half and the O-line giving up on Mett was inexcusable. That's on Miles imo.

This is crap. Saban has coached bad games at Bama as well during his run. I will end by saying this. At this point its Saban 1A and Miles 1B.

Probing question worthy of my praise.
Always enjoy your posts Jay.

I know Miles at LSU smokes Saban at LSU in just about every measurable category--including the best season in school history (long after all of Saban's coaches and players were gone).
Wait a second, did I miss an entire year in there somewhere?

SOme teams lost 8.
Some lost 7.
Hell, some lost 10.
Point being is, where is the bar for you as a fan?
I don't like not being first.,, doesnt matter if its in my personal life or whichever team I choose to follow.
That's just me though.
Some of you clearly are ok with second or third place.
That's the divide on this board.

I said in another thread that this is what actually started giving me some concern with regard to recruiting. I can't recall seeing the team outrun, out-muscled, and straight manhandled like that in recent years (not since 2008, which was an anomaly).

awesome. now point me to the coach, team, or player that's won every game and come out first every year. any sport...any time.
thanks

Do I want LSU to win the NC every year? sure. But we both know that will not happen. LSU is to a point where its gonna get great athletes, and have verygood seasons every year. Do I like 10-3? No cause we could do better every year. Losing to a good Bama team I can tolerate. Losing to a depleted Ole Miss team is inexcuseable.

You must have misread my post.
Excuses/Reasons/ explanations or all semantics.
The post was laid out to show how close all of our games are, even when we lose.
I actually agree that Saban is the better coach (1A and 1B). You can't argue with championships.
The point of the post is, you can't knock another coach, because of the success of someone else.
Example: Should the Seahawks have fired Carroll because he struggled to beat the 49ers.
Example 2: Does Belichick need to be replaced for not winning a Super Bowl in 10 years (I'd love to see his 10-year excuse list). Especially since Coughlin beat Belichick twice in the Super Bowl. Yet somehow, he is still regarded as one of the top coaches in the game. And I agree. Lets remember, Belichick is the same guy that called a 4 and GO in their own territory in a loss to the Colts a few years back. Regardless, Bill Belichick can coach my team any day. Reason why; he wins games; Bottom line.
Excuses, Reasons, explanations: they are al the same. In team sports, there can only be one champion. I am quite comfortable knowing that my Alma Mater is competing for championships and winning 10 plus games a year.
