Absolutely, I agree! The last part of your statement, "signature on a style," is essentially what I was suggesting. Stand on the shoulders of giants. Take what is good and then make it better, at least in your eyes.

I've talked to Andrew, the Great Raft owner (name drop bitches!) about this before, as he said he could reverse engineer Heady or ZD, but he would never do that because he wants people to like his own recipe/creation.
