believe what you want but it was just a thread that would bring a legitimate argument dealing with the situation. If you really thought it was stupid why are you wasting your time being involved so much?

me? I'm not arguing anything you said. I agree. I was just pointing out my example that refers to me as a way of saying that not necessarily job title and degree match.
kind of like someone else said they work mechanical engineering and not an ME.
did not mean for you to get offended.

You didn't or General Studies.
You concentrated on Bio

Oh, there you are.
Hey.
Simple question: Did you take ALL of the classes required for a biology degree?

You didn't major in anything. You wasted your time and your money. It's not an easy pill to swallow.

Because you don't. I have one. It looks like this:
Do you see general studies anywhere on there?
Or LSU-A, for that matter?
Posted on 7/11/14 at 10:31 am to DirtyMikeandtheBoys
lol...no worries. just were confused there for a second.

The same as everyone else with a General Studies degree (myself included). When people ask what I majored in I tell them General Studies although I have concentrations in Business, Psychology, and Aerospace Studies (ROTC). I don't lie and tell people that I am a business major or a psychology major.
It's a shite degree and that's why I'm back for Mechanical Engineering.

Because you don't. Now better get ready for work, the McD's lunch rush comes soon....

So what's the point of concentrations towards a degree?
Posted on 7/11/14 at 10:33 am to TigerTerd
to make you feel like you aren't completely wasting your time.
it worked.
it worked.

So that there is some kind of structure to what is essentially a waste of time and money.

Ummm, I guess bullshite. You really should have thought this through more, as should your parents. Honestly, that degree is worth about as much as one from the University of Phoenix. Another words, you just wasted your time for 5 years.

Propositions are tricky for some people.
Degree OF is bachelors, masters, etc,
Degree IN is your content area.
Of course they aren't going to put everyone's concentrations on their degrees, that's too many and too much detail.
