Right.
So a movement taking out apes that is pacifist in nature would be a grim way to move in that direction.
The only roadblock is that we don't really know if there are other colonies of intelligent apes.

Maybe. I think the next one will go into the future a little bit. We just got a glimpse of a small portion of the day in the life of this world. Do the apes steal enough fire power to to capture all the humans? The apes will probably move to a new location and the humans will probably "wipe themselves out". We'll see.
