Excellent question.
It depends on what colors you like and other factors. I prefer pegmatitic granite because you can see all the minerals and they are huge so there's no set mixed pattern. It's great to stare at. I also like gneiss.

You have to ask for the rock type, not the lame names.

The granite in my kitchen and 4 of my bathrooms look like that castor brown picture.
I have a friend who is a geologist. Unfortunately, he took his wife for granite and she left him! :rimshot:
