Missed the goal while answering the door.

Rebound off of Soldado's head into the goal.

That was such a fluke goal, but Bobby Soldier needs a few of those. The guy has no confidence. He missed one that any dominant striker should bury.

Here is the Soldado goal. I can't stop watching it.

Agree. He should have buried it. That being said I am loving his passing and how involved he is getting.
Kyle played pretty good defense but he just doesn't offer anything in the attacking third. Couldn't help but wonder how things would have gone if Eriksen would have been laying them off for Yedlin.

Let's not confuse people here. Walker is still the man.

I knew I was going to misspell his name. Haha

I thought he meant kyle walker as well

Tottenham certainly has more money than Roma but I don't think Yedlin's meager transfer fee nor salary really amount to that much of a consideration for either club.
The EPL pays considerably more than Serie A even after you take in to account that Italian teams pay the players taxes. Bradley was making around 800k at Roma and he was an established European veteran. Yedlin would walk in to Spurs making about that.

Roma buys quite a few younger players on similar transfers/wages every year. I imagine he went to Tottenham because it's a prestigious club in a country where people speak English.
How is Tottenham more prestigious than Roma? They've had 2 top 4 finishes in the history of the Premier league. If you're going back to the 60's and whatnot then he should just join Nottingham Forest. Maybe not in the US, but Roma is arguably a more prestigious club in Europe than Spurs.
quote:I do think he'd get plenty of minutes, but probably more at wing than RB, but I mostly agree with what you're saying. Maicon is on a steep downslide though, who knows if he'll even be serviceable this year. But, by all accounts, Roma's plan was to loan him out for a year anyway which is very common in Italy.
Roma does have Maicon at RB but you may forget that his backup is Vasilis Torosidis, an excellent RB who was probably Greece's best player in their run out of the WC group stage. Yedlin wouldn't have seen a minute at Roma.
Little known fact about the Serie A's "foreign Player" rules: It doesn't matter what the players country of origin is, it's all about where they are transferring from. If Yedlin was loaned to Genoa for a season (who has a non-EU spot available) he would then not count as a foreigner the following season for Roma. All of this is assuming he doesn't get his Latvian passport taken care of obviously.
From what I read today, Roma is apparently still in the hunt, it seems the deal to Spurs isn't a forgone conclusion.

I answered this in the Roma thread.

You must have terrible reading comprehension. All he was saying is that Spurs is a prestigious club that speaks English. Roma is a prestigious club that speaks Italian. Period. You are making an argument out of nothing.

Read that last night too. WTF kind of pelvic injury does the kid have? Damn,
Posted on 8/11/14 at 11:49 am to GeauxColonels
There is a whole list of things I think European football does better than American sports. Injuries is not on that list. Details are always vague, and I don't think the care is nearly as good.

Maybe Walker is just a prissy bitch.
Posted on 8/11/14 at 1:31 pm to GeauxColonels
I've always liked Walker. He's confident. He reminds me of Johnny Football, except he actually has been caught with drugs.
Posted on 8/11/14 at 4:46 pm to GeauxColonels
I don't know what he has going on with that pelvis... How do y'all think this affects our opening day back 4?
Posted on 8/11/14 at 4:57 pm to StickyFingaz
Think we should be alright Should be able to out score west ham with or without walker if we can't we have bigger problems.

Sure he's got talent....but damn he whines too much on the field.

I'm not worried about West Ham either, but it sounds like he will miss the Pool game. I'm not saying we have to have him, just wondering who we will start in his place?
