Every year for the past 10 years or so, my brother and I spend 3-4 days in NOLA for the Sugar Bowl and other shenanigans. Our anniversary is in January, so this is combined with my birthday present and Christmas present. My wife usually tells me what she would like....We've been married 34 years...My wife and I also go to a very nice dinner of her choosing.
