Animal hospital on Sherwood said that was the only thing to do, anit venom. I've been reading and it sounds like he has a good chance of fighting it off, and that most vets will give something to relieve pain and reduce swelling, but not recommend anit venom.

IMO there is never just 1 treatment option.


Do I think that could be included in the optimal treatment plan? Yes. Do I think there are other things that can be done to help the dog? yes.

This is what I was thinking as well. Nurse summed it up perfectly.




I'd bring him in and let them do what they need to do. I wouldn't want to take that chance of waiting until tomorrow.


They're there right now and can more than likely give him a check up right away.


I also agreed with Aubiedvm. They can at least monitor him overnight.


Bring him up there.


Get off of here and just do it. Then it's done and you'll at least have an idea of what you're dealing with.
