Kinda looks like cotton mouth but can't tell b/c you messed him up. Also look like banded water snake.
Saw your OB post
Monitor your dog closely. If he was bitten by a poisonous snake (esp in the neck/face area) he needs to be seen immediately! Do not give benadryl or anything like that b/c it won't help. The swelling from snake bites is not due to same things as allergic reactions.
Cotton mouth bites aren't as bad as rattle snake bites but they're certainly worse than copperhead bites.
You'll know pretty quickly if it were poisonous -- he will be swelling up big time wherever he was bitten. If it wasn't a poisonous snake but it did bite him anyway I woudl still have him seen by a vet but POSSIBLY coudl wait til tomorrow. He'll need antibiotics for the bite wound or it will get infected.

Bit on foot...definitely swelling. Killed it with a shovel and was trying to get the dog away from it from the same time, with out getting bit myself. That picture is the result.
