Why can't you believe it? The Adreno 330 GPU in the G3's Snapdragon 801 has to render about 1.8 times as many pixels as phones with 1080p screens. Coincidentally, the Adreno 330 is about twice as fast as the Adreno 320 from the Snapdragon S4 Pro and Snapdragon 600, so you should have expected the G3 to perform about the same as a phone with an S4 Pro or Snapdragon 600 and a 1080p screen. Considering LG's skin is about as heavy as Samsung's, one would expect the G3 to perform similar to a Galaxy S4 (SD 600, 1080p screen), which also garnered a lot of complaints about lag in its day.
If you look at the onscreen BaseMark and GFXBench benchmarks here, you will see that the G3 does indeed slot in right between the Galaxy S4 and G2, and is nowhere near the performance of the Snapdragon 800 and 801 phones with 1080p screens.
Bottom line... if you come from something older or slower than a Galaxy S4, then you will probably think the G3 is fast and fluid. If you came from something newer or faster than the S4, you might feel like the G3 is a little slower and laggier.

I got mine in yesterday (att 3gb/32gb) and I'm not impressed. Nothing really wrong but the few positives (camera, no touchwiz) aren't worth losing my note 3 stylus and usb3 quick charge. I'm back on my note already this morning.
I'll wait for the phones this fall.

Seems most of the reviews/impressions about the lag and such pertain to the 2GB Ram version.

Response was snappy. Overall it's a nice phone and I love the camera. My situation is relative to the Note 3 though.
If you're coming from a GS3/GS4, HTC One (m7), iphone 4s/5, etc. you'll probably be happy with it.

My G3 won't be in until later today but if you have one that is rooted you may want to install G3 Tweaksbox. This is an easy way to mod your phone if you don't want to use custom roms.

If you are having heat, lag, or battery issues because of the screen try this tweak.

Keep us updated please!
Just got back from the ATT store...didn't get it but my mind is not made up. Here are my thoughts.
1.) The phone is sexy. Very good looking. You wouldn't know it was plastic right off the bat unless someone told you.
2.) it feels really good to hold. I was expecting something that felt like a Phablet. Not at all. I'm 5'11 with average hands and it was easily able to handle it with one hand. Impressive for a 5.5 in display.
3.) I liked the skin a lot. I liked the "Q" apps and how you could get them to float over other apps (iphone guy so I'm not sure if other devices do this?)
4.) Outstanding camera that is really intuitive. I took a couple pics and they looked great.
5.) I have no idea what peoples beef is with the screen. I didnt see any "sharpening" or yellowish tint or any of the other first world problems that others seemed to have. It looked very good. I won't say great because I prefer a little more color and I couldn't really tell the difference between it and a 1080p screen, but you can't do much better than what LG did here IMO.
My beef was the lag. Oh did that phone lag. Maybe it was just that one because I didn't see it that bad in videos. I really don't know. I'm interested to see if you guys find a satisfactory fix that works for you.
Bottom line, it's a great phone, but I didn't find a compelling reason to switch from my 5S. If the lag is resolvable I'll probably rethink things, because I really do want to give android another shake.

Solid post.
I can deal with some quirks in a phone but lag is not one of them.

They lag bad enough after 6 months to a year old... Lagging out the box would lead to disaster

I'll post some thoughts later tonight but the phone looks and feels amazing in the hand. LG did a great job with the design. I've been going through the menus, adding apps, and basically just getting it setup how I want it and it hasn't really lagged for me. There was a studder when I went into the app drawer the first time and when going into a text convo from touching the popup but neither are really that bad. Webpages, going through the homescreens, and settings all feel very fluid. I haven't loaded all my apps yet because I've been messing with the settings and getting some root apps installed but so far the phone has performed well. We'll see how the next few days go.

6 is so far out and my 5 is fighting for it's life
Maybe if I get this battery swapped out I can get a few more months out of it

Having trouble with my data speeds.. It's taking 3 or so minutes to download a small app on playstore.. Seeing other people with same problem.. Possibly because of new apn att is using.. My download speeds are around .75mb/s
Will investigate
