quote:i'm not against you. I have no idea if russ is better than pierre I have never seen either play. my feathers were just ruffled when you called the d-leaguers nba caliber talent. there are some that scrape through but the majority that do are nba scrubs leaving 99% of the d-league not even nba caliber.
Podna! You the only one on here that knows something cause these other fools just don't get it!

So nothing to prove your point right? That's good to know. You're just talking out of your arse based upon a dynamic scoring ability showcased in ncaa Division II.

If Russ Smith makes the Pelicans roster this season, we're in a lotta trouble.
Let's see him play before we make a judgment. He seems to be highly thought of by more than one analyst and observer.

Pierre had at least a lil shot of making a roster cuz he such a explosive scorer.
Maybe, but I think people put a little too much stock in his D League performance.
Now it would be troubling to think either one makes or breaks the Pelicans season.

So he would've ruptured his Achilles for us?
He may very well have. Those acting like he wouldn't have are every bit as fallacious as anyone saying he would. I'd say it's more likely he would than wouldn't. How did it happen? Was there an underlying issue? He may very well have had an existing condition that predisposed him to the injury.
Either way, he is now hurt. He is still an undersized chucker that didn't fit our style. We replaced him with a comparable player that seems a better fit.
Win-win.

In all honesty, I would rather Pierre myself. I liked him a little more coming out of college talent wise. He seemed to have the capability of being a good scorer off the bench. Russ could be okay though, he is more of an effort player and you cant really judge those until you see them in action.

Yep. Everyone wants to go for offense. The offense, flawed as it may be, ain't the problem. Finishing 13th in ORating w/ all the injuries to key guys is not a bad achievement at all. Plenty of things I would like to see improved, but you can win with an offense that good.

I have already made my point that it wasn't neccessary to trade Jackson and they were better off keeping him because he would have been the better backup PG to Holliday than a Smith. Jackson could come in and give you a boost off the bench with his dynamic abilty to score. Oh well, it's too late now, another bone headed decision by Demps and Co. .

You have to remember who the coach is though. Monty didn't seem the least bit comfortable with Pierre as a player. Even if Russ Smith is only 80% the player Pierre is on offense, he's supposedly a hustle defender and a Monty type of player. Willie Green may not be better than Marcus Thornton, but if you're going to be spending money and a roster spot on a guy, Willie Green is the guy you chose if Monty's your coach.
I hope Pierre gets healthy and has a successful career, but I can't believe we've gotten to page 3 arguing over 2nd round talent. Melo and LeBron need to make up their minds quick

You didn't make that point at all. You just said it a few times and then pretended you won the argument.
Glad to see you're still the same moron we've known for years now.

That's MW for you, brah! Always with the defense preachery meanwhile teams are among worst in the league defensively. PJ would have been fun to watch comin off the bench to provide a spark. Oh well!

quote:
Demps and Williams continue to do stupid shite. They trade this kid to Philly for Louisville's rookie guard who is virtually the same size. The difference to me is that Jackson is a much better player. I don't get it. I'm starting to think these two clowns really don't know anything about basketball.
OK. You think he's better. And you give zero reason why.
quote:
What ain't close?? You talkin about height, brah?? What we talkin about?? A inch or two! They list Smith at 6'0 feet even though he's probably 5'11. Pierre Jackson is a heckuva offensive player even at 5'9" or 5"10". He led the NBAD League in scoring last season. And these fools just give him away. I liked Demps and Williams when they first got rolling there, but their dumb decisions as of late has gotten old. Like the first rounder for this season they could have used that they gave away additionally to get Jrue Holliday.
Pierre Jackson is better because he led a league of nobodies in scoring. Got it.
quote:Can you start a separate thread detailing how it was a bad trade?
You probably one of the dumb counts that was on here last season talkin about Noel and 1st rounder to Philly for Holliday was a good trade when it happened. Sure it was. Go suck off ya boy Lobos. Not one of you muthafrickas know shite about basketball.
quote:
D league or Z league he is a much better player right now than some fresh faced out of school rookie. Just please stop. One dummy is enough. Jackson is a much better player right now. Kid has worked hard. Unfortunate thing that happened to him. Wish him well
So now he's better than Russ Smith because Russ was in college last year?
Withey>>>>>>Embiid
quote:
No! But you must be if you are trin to tell me Russ Smith is better than Pierre Jackson right now.
Same thing. No support to your argument. Just a statement.
quote:
good one. That is the only way! Pierre Jackson has gotten valuable experience training in the Pelicans system last season and this season. Played a whole season against some NBA caliber talent in the developmental league which has also improved him. And this fool has the audacity to ask me or imply that a fresh off the Rick Pitino's cock Russ Smith is the better player.
First, Pierre Jackson didn't spend "last season and this season" training in the Pelicans' system, so you pulled that out of your arse. Second, you once again didn't support your argument with any relevant facts. Just because a guy played in the nbadl doesn't automatically make him better than a guy who played in college. That is insane.
quote:
Some of these guys do go on and make NBA teams you know. So they have to have something. San Antonio has done pretty well off them.
Some of these guys make an NBA roster. Great. Russ Smith played against a ton of NBA talent in college. He played against players who will have a much bigger impact in the nba than the guys Pierre Jackson was playing against last year.
quote:
That's not what I meant when I made that comment. Of course a lot of those guys will never make it to the NBA. But some do. And I'm to tired to go frickin look up their names. But you would play them when your team runs across their team. So in essence you are playin some NBA caliber talent. Garrett Temple, all those cats have had stints there.
but this is nothing. The question is or was is Smith better than Jackson was before he got hurt. And the answer is hell no!
Garrett Temple (lists zero other players...) all those cats. And then, again, you say Jackson is better than Smith, but give zero reason as to why.
quote:Finds some semblance of a point the aligns with his own, clings to that poster.
Podna! You the only one on here that knows something cause these other fools just don't get it!
quote:
And Russ Smith is to small to make any difference any damn ways. Just traded away a dynamic scoring lil guard for a avaerage lil college guard. MW loses on both counts.
When your argument for a 5'10" guy is that the 6'0" guy is too small, you're doing it wrong.

Clearly you haven't.

Logic: Our defense is bad, so we should let a guy who is terrible on D play.
quote:
Because Jackson is the flat out better player you moronic brain dead frick! Look throughout the thread, it's only there like all the time in my posts you dumb hillbilly. Go play with yourself! I have no interest in you! You're one of the dumbest posters on here!
We're looking throughout the thread. It's not there. Nor is it "only there like all the time" in your posts.
