The AV Club critic gave it a B-.
I think he isn't a fan of the series since the apes winning is a foregone conclusion.
I never understood that point of view. I love a good WWII movie, even though I've had the ending spoiled since Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

they didn't really "win" though. the conflict was pretty complex for a kiddie/cgi movie
