On I-10, the truck was described as speeding well over the speed limit and weaving in and out of traffic. Just before toppling over the guardrail, the driver was seen passing on the shoulder. One witness said the truck ran out of safe space, flipped and dropped to the ground below.

This sounds right. I passed by a few minutes later and saw what was left on the interstate, looked like a few small cars with minimal damage, no trucks. Strangely, there was an ice chest and bud light cans on the ground by the guardrail. I figured they had to have fallen out of a truck, but couldn't find the truck. I assumed it was a hit and run. I suspect this guy drinking with his kid in the car

Jesus. Hope the kid is okay. If the driver is the only fatality I can live with that. I have to believe there was alcohol involved.
