Sixty grand in Portland

I wouldn't be living in Portland. Portland is right on the border of OR and WA, and I would be right across the river on the WA side.

I also think there is a lot more room for professional growth that comes with this offer. It's a much bigger company than where I'm at now, with international offices.

You pay OR tax on income in that situation?

I have a family member there in Northwest Portland.

Just came back from the area. I stayed in Portland/Wine Country area. There is so much fun outdoors stuff to do, some of the best wine and beer in the country, and that area allows you to be within striking distance of good travel spots to see. Some of the cons, the city of Portland is pretty liberal so depending on your personality, that could be an issue. My wife and I got really tired of being asked to vote for full disclosure of non organic ingredients to be list food labels, or help vote on new lower emissions standards for vehicles. Not that I mind the idea, but we couldn't walk a block without someone hitting us up. On the West side of Portland is one of the nation's largest areas of grass seed grower. This would be a major con for me as it blew my allergies out of the water. Without a doubt I have to get put on a program with an allergist out there.

I'm not a big city guy and would have a hard time having to drive into downtown daily for work, but I would live there in a heartbeat if the office was outside of downtown or if I was looking for a nice retirement spot right outside of Portland.

Full disclosure: I went when there was not one rain drop, 70ish during the day and 50is at nights, and a great breeze all day. Don't know what living up there during rainy season would do to dampen my spirits.
