If the NP is just out of school you will need to provide training for a good year before she is able to be fully relied on.

You could collaborate with an Optometrist too.

Or more!!! And it depends on who they worked with before. I treat mine like residents. And I want things done MY WAY. They are to ask me on anything at all they aren't sure about or have questions on. I tell them the answer and let them go back in and look all smart and shite. Keeps them from feeling like I'm showing them up and gives the pt confidence in them. Doesn't hurt that I've been their doctor for 12 years with one of them and 10 for the other. Got one in school now I've been seeing since she was twelve. Damn I feel old. If they have any ego at all, I wouldn't do it. And as for you, don't show them up. It'll hurt y'alls relationship and undermine pt confidence in them and ultimately hurt the practice.
