I generally defer to older teams because I feel the 'young' crowd, myself included, forgets how good the older teams were. That said, these Spurs ran through a gauntlet of a conference from beginning to end.
I also think people think of the awesome 80's squads simply because of the name on the front of their jersey (Celtics, Lakers).
Fwiw- I think '94 Rockets could have handled the Bulls.
I think these Spurs of 2014 belong with the Lakers of 2001 and Bulls of '96.
I am sick of the 'Jordan/end thread' logic. Who was the best team they beat in the East? They sort of remind me of the Heat in a sense that it was them and some also rans in the East.

I get what youre saying, but in terms of the Finals, going 6 for 6 without ever being taken to a game 7 stands for something...
