The grill goes on the outside wall and not the Island/bar area. If you put the grill there you would loose all the bar seating. No one wants to hang out behind a BBQ pit. You may not need a vent hood with the structure being open on 3 sides but take in consideration wind. If you do a hood put the grill and the primo closer together. This way you can get one big hood or make a custom hood. You want 6" of overhang on either side of the grill/primo. I wouldn't mount the primo in the granite, if something happens you might need a new primo and new granite. There is a nice 30 x 15 drawer that goes nicely under kamado's.
