This team played extremely well.
We beat an extremely talented Ghana team filled with players on top flight teams.
We almost beat Portugal and still came away with a draw from a team of world class players.
The Germany game while tough was still very hard fought.
Belgium was just a step ahead but one unlucky boot placement away from losing.
This is a world cup to be proud of and celebrated.
If you don't think so go read a paper from: Portugal, Ghana, England, Italy or Spain and see what they're saying about their team's performance.
Good job boys.

I love and have a lot of respect for the team. And I think they had a good WC.
But I didn't think they played great overall today. They were consistently beat to the ball and could not win many 50/50 balls. They seemed kind of tentative and were reduced to playing long balls.
That said, they hung in there and came very close to pulling it off if Wondo could have sloted that kick in.

Truth hurts. We were dominated by Germany and Belgium.

This is why soccer fans get a bad rep. We have to listen to blowhards who aren't really sure what they're talking about come in here and present their opinion as gospel.

Wrong. Most were dealt with. The people wanting to know situations that meant something were treated with correct answers.

Thank god Howard showed up. Should have been 4-0.

I don't mind having discussions with people who are unaware. I just get annoyed with the people who have seen one game and fancy themselves an expert.

I'm not proclaiming to be an expert. But I won't be satisfied with mediocrity. We beat Ghana. Congrats on accepting status quo.

You don't know what an accomplishment any of that was. It doesn't make you any more of an American or a fan to try to diminish what this team did.
It's not accepting status quo. According to the world, status quo would have been to lose all three games without scoring a goal and not coming near the knockout stages.

Dude just stop. Are you one of those people that automatically think we need to beat teams based on GDP per capita? We were put in this group for 2 reasons 1)Germany and 2) Ghana and we survived.
Posted on 7/1/14 at 10:38 pm to arseinclarse
We weren't even supposed to get out of group. Nobody said this team was going to win the WC

We win one game and it's considered a success. I laugh at what we've become.
You all should have been Tampa fans in the 80s.

I immediately regret defending the plebeians who are showing up to the board for the first time. Jesus, I can't wait for all of these fricking idiots to go back to the OT and MSB.
