Samsung dish washer was supposed to be super quiet. It was until the motor went out within the first month. Repair guy said the "quiet" motor was too weak and Samsung made him replace it with a stronger, louder one.
I call bullshite by repair guy. I sold appliance for almost 3 years. Samsung replaces parts with the exact same part UNLESS that part is on back order. They could of told the repair guy this: motor comes in 2 weeks, can use this one and get it in 3 days. That being said.
Samsung was my number #1 seller. Less problems and repairs, most efficient, and quietest washer, dryer, and dishwasher. Their dishwashers aren't rated high thanks to Bosch blowing everyone else out of the water.
Washer has a 5 cubic feet top loader that's gorgeous and works very well. It's dryer has the shoe rack that can come in and out as needed. Very nice set. Washer spins at the highest RPM's of any of them, unless differet now since December. That means decreased dryer time since less water will be in clothes. Very energy efficient.
Fridges are very nice. This one is a tough catagory because half the consumer reports go with Samsung fridges and half with LG as best. Samsung has twin coolers to keep the air circulation different for fridge and freezer. Most have duel ice makers (some said ice maker produced ice too slow so Samsung started with two ice makers). As someone said, the filters are $40, but 99% of water filters are between $34-$44. No difference there between brands. I highly recommend the Samsungs.
