Part of the problem is simply the number of schools. There is currently ONE public high school in all of st.George!

This is the same as the Baton Rouge Taxi argument. Why build schools without students? The white kids have been going to private schools for 30-40 years.

And by the way Lee High is being built which will take primarily St George area students

And it is the newest high school built from the ground up in the EBR system.

Is it overcrowded? I've seen nothing indicating Woodlawn High is overcrowded.

If it isn't why should taxpayers' money be spent on new facilities that aren't needed?

Yes and that one school only has 3% of its classes with over 30 students. Their doesn't appear to be a demand for new schools until parents decide to pull their kids out of private schools. This is when the school system will improve, but no one will pull their kids out until the schools improve. Unfortunately we can't have one without the other.

Therefore, we will continue to try to fix something that won't be fixed.
