Would you rather cam as head coach?
Could we keep Chavis, grimes, cam, moffit, Wilson, etc. when miles retires?

More likely scenario is Cam to HC, with Frank as OC, but I doubt they stay long enough for that to happen.

LSU will hire a proven head coach. Frank Wilson will have to be a head coach somewhere before LSU would consider. Not sure Cam Cameron would get consideration either.

Id prefer Cam at this point.. Id really like to see Frank become a coordinator before ascending to Head Coach.. I do hope to see him coaching LSU in the future.

Assuming this happens in 3-5 years, Cameron would definitely recieve consideration if at that point he had kept the offense consistent over that span and proven his recruiting ability. There just aren't that many proven head coaching candidates lying around that you could ignore him.

I think that move, or either OC of a decent program, will happen soon. I think he will be successful enough to be considered. If by some mircacle he stays on at LSU until Miles retires, I don't think OC would be a stretch at all, especially under an offensive coach like Cameron. He's already interviewed as an OC at large schools and the man is worth his weight in gold as a recruiter.

My personal feeling is that he is about ready to move on if another HC came onboard.
I would rather Cam as HC that FW

Just make cam head coach and frank OC. There's not a chance in hell can cameron would work under frank with his head coaching experience

I love having Frank Wilson on the LSU staff. But he's there, like a lot of asst coaches, to recruit the best players to play at a premier program for a premier head coach and premier off/def coordinators.
Ridley, Hill, Blue, Ware, Ford, Hilliard, Magee, Fournette and Williams were talented when they got to LSU. When they make unbelievable runs, that's because they're skilled. Wilson didn't teach them how to do that.
My Point: I don't think Wilson is an X's and O's type of coach. Maybe he is, and great if so. But I think right now he gets paid, a LOT of money, to recruit the best players. And he's damn good in doing that. The best there is. If he was going to be an off co, I think he would already be one by now.

Post more, because that's pure comedy gold

If this is a two man competition for the job then its hands down Cam IMO. I think LSU goes outside the family before promoting Wilson at this point in his career.

So naive.

just pay him well for what he does...
a head coach can not do what Frank does..lack of time

Wow. I have seen a lot of [when Miles leaves/retires] threads lately. Imo he will be here for another 7-10 years. The biggest thing LSU needs to do is get Chavis with a long term deal. Then Cam.

For head coach...or Pee Wee Herman, maybe.
I hear the equipment manager is rated tops in the NCAA; we could make him head coach after Miles.
Guys, if you've never hired executives you need to quit embarrassing yourselves by speculating on head coaches. The head coach of LSU is a monstrously difficult job requiring tremendous managerial and inspirational talents. The only chance a guy like you could successfully pick a HC is to focus on head coaches who are already successful and throw buckets of money at them. Otherwise, you might as well pick a random name from the telephone book.

You can laugh at him, but I don't see LSU hiring someone with a HC record of 19-52, that in 6 seasons never had a winning season.

I think Chavis retires at LSU... as defensive coordinator. I think this is his last stop

We're talking about a hypothetical probably 6-7 years down the line. Cameron was last a head coach in college in 2001 and his offenses were dynamite - At Indiana. If you think LSU or anyone will hold his record at Indiana against him and ignore his offensive prowess, then I'm not sure what to tell you.
