Oh joy, been greeted on this fine Monday morning with 168 pages of required readings from James in MKT701.

TBH, it's been so long since i've done either. I have science heavy background so I'm trying to switch back to math and writing papers mindset I used in college.
Based on the advice I received so far, I will wait on Econ and Org Mgmt to take the recommended instructors.

Good move, ECON705 with Shaughnessy was excellent.

Madm 760 Heller (I heard Meeks was good but no feedback on Heller
Can only comment on MADM 760.
I'd take MADM760 with Meeks if possible. He assigns weekly writing assignments that include 5 question based on the weeks required videos and readings. Each answer should be 100+ words. I found he grades generously. He adds an extra credit question to each writing assignment so I usually ended up with over 100% on the writing assignments (i.e. 42/40, 54/50).
There is a team component to the class. He places you in groups of 4-5 people and you meet weekly on Zoom to answer the questions on the team PowerPoint. Luckily, I had great groups for both MADM 751 & 760 so the meetings were pleasant and scheduling was no problem. 760 also has weekly quizzes which are a breeze.
The assignments felt meaningful. I learned a lot in his classes.

Hi guys, off-topic question. My wife is looking at on-line RN to BSN programs. I saw that LSU-Alexandria has one. I don't see anything for LSUS. If anyone local down there has any info or recommendations I'd appreciate it.

My wife is looking at on-line RN to BSN programs.
LINK
She had all the needed pre-req's so she was able to complete it in just 1 year. Pretty much every class contained:
1. Forum post, and response
2. Multiple choice quizzes
3. Research papers
And then sometimes some sort of main project, which could just be the research paper. However, I know for one course I had to take a video of her doing a patient assessment.
In another course she had to look at statistics on health care challenges in a particular area of our city and then had to come up with some kind of plan to improve it. This included her interviewing / documenting feedback from the closest healthcare related business in that area. I think she setup an interview with a pharmacist.
Another project had her identifying a major problem within her place of work (she works in a hospital setting) and then come up with a project plan for how to improve it.
She said the program wasn't too bad and she definitely recommends it to any nurse wanting their BSN. She still has some co-workers in it, and though they continue to modify the program (like LSUS), it sounds like it hasn't changed too much from when she did it.
I hope that helps.

SoCal-has your wife looked into UTA, WGU, or Capella? All of them are online programs. I did an accelerated BSN back in the day, but I have colleagues that have good things to say about those programs.

DieDaily and MBA2k19, thanks so much for your input. Appreciate it and I'll share with my wife.

Good Lord.. Has anyone else looked at part one of the project James assigned for Mkt 701? A 14 to 20 page paper due Feb 16th... In addition to the reading and exams...
I'm seriously debating dropping with a W and waiting for another prof.. Or just taking a "C" for this class and not writing this.. RIP 4.0...
How do you guys feel about it?

Vantix,
I am getting a little overwhelmed as well in regards to MKT 701. The reading alone takes a lot of time to go through in order to actual be ready for the exam.
Given this project is due at the end of week 5, I wonder how the Part 2 deadline will work? All of that, plus two more forums and a "project reflection paper".
It seems as if this is all relatively new material for the course due to all the changes in scheduled deadlines and delays of posting material.
I am just worried about working on a 20 page paper, probably a forum posting next week and reading 160+ pages of content for an exam while paired with another challenging course. Nobody said earning an MBA would be a breeze but I am excited to be able to get more than 4 hours of sleep again!
best of luck to you.

Robbie,
I'm concerned about the remaining workload as well. Had I known taking this class would be like a second job, I wouldn't have doubled it up. I'm honestly not certain I have time in my life for these kinds of commitments. Something each of us will have to decide for ourselves I suppose.

It's well documented on this forum that her class IS a second job and not to double it up. Kind of disappointed she didn't stick with the simulation program. It was a bit of work but a fun and interesting way to apply the concepts.

Brent,
You're right about her workload being well documented. Thanks for your insight.

Is there anyone here taking ISDS 702 this term?

Yes, such joy isn't it!

I definitely share your concerns. However. I wonder if it will be taught by another professor in the near future.
